Over 1mln take biometric fingerprints

More than a million Kuwaitis and residents have taken biometric fingerprints since its implementation on May 12, pointing out that the new system works efficiently and smoothly, and efforts continue to facilitate its work at all border crossings, noting that this new system aims to build a security database for citizens and residents, well-informed security sources told Al-Qabas daily. The sources confirmed the continuation of taking the fingerprint for citizens, residents and citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the centers prepared for that, from 8 am to 8 pm, without specifying a specific time to finish taking the biometric fingerprint.

The sources revealed that the company implementing the project periodically receives security notes from the General Department of Criminal Evidence, which is the body responsible for the fingerprint, in order to improve the efficiency and functioning of the fingerprint system. The sources pointed out that these efforts come within the framework of the Ministry’s strategy aimed at developing and automating services provided to the public, to facilitate and facilitate the citizens, residents and citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and to save time and effort, and raise the level of performance and achievement. The Ministry of Interior confirmed in a statement that the biometric fingerprint project contributes to the availability of a database for everyone who lives in Kuwait and is 18 years of age or older.
